Giving to the German Summer School
In a world increasingly propelled by international exchange, global trade, and trans-cultural communication, proficiency in a foreign language and in-depth knowledge of a foreign culture are of vital importance. Unique and special programs, such as the German Summer School of New Mexico, are allowing students to gain near native proficiency in the German language and to understand the idiosyncrasies and differences of German culture, economics, history, politics, and literature.
However, specialized summer programs require extra efforts, dedication, and, of course, additional resources. In fact, without the generosity of outside sponsors we could not have continued this school for more than forty years. As program costs have risen sharply in the last five years, more interested students are now in greater need of financial aid than ever.
On behalf of these students we are seeking contributions for scholarships that would allow us to alleviate program costs for participants with limited means. We are also seeking general contributions to the program that will enable us to attract highly qualified faculty from the US and Europe to teach at the program. Please consider partnering with us to provide this extraordinary experience for these extraordinary students.
